Hollywood Bowl Orchestra (a project of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association)

(Per service)
Auditions to be held on June 17, 2019 in Los Angeles.

Under its Principal Conductor, Thomas Wilkins, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra ("HBO") is a per-service ensemble comprised of approximately 80 players which performs mostly from mid-June through mid-September each summer at the world-famous 17,000-seat Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

The Bowl Orchestra falls under the umbrella of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association though it is a completely separate group of musicians and works under a different AFM collective bargaining agreement than the LA Phil (there is no overlap in players between the two orchestras).

The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra’s 2018/19 per-service Base Scale is $282.58 for performances and $184.48 for rehearsals. Scale for the Concertmaster position is 200% of Base Scale. In each of the three most recent summer seasons, the Orchestra has averaged approximately 26 services.
Closing date: 24 May 2019
