The Scottish Chamber Orchestra is seeking an outstanding candidate to fill the position of Sub-Principal Flute (with Piccolo). This position requires doubling on piccolo and alto flute where necessary, and on occasion there may be the opportunity to play Principal Flute. As a permanent performing member of the SCO, the successful applicant will be an integral part of the Wind section.

There will be two rounds of auditions; first round auditions will consist of a video submission in early January 2022, in-person second round auditions will be held in Edinburgh in March 2022.

Attached are the requirements for those candidates who are selected to submit a video for the First Round. Audition booklets along with filming tips and filming requirements will be sent out to invited candidates in early December. Please do not make a recording before this point.

The SCO is committed to finding the best candidate for this position and is open to all applicants. However, it is the responsibility of individual candidates to ensure that they have the correct documentation including a work permit, if applicable, for the duration of any engagement
