Audition: May 11th 2020 in Harpa, Reykjavík, Iceland

Solo works:

1.First movement from a classical concerto by Hoffmeister (D-major) or Stamitz (D-major) withcandenza.
2.First movement from Bartok or Walton or Hindemith Der Schwanendreher.
3.One movement from a solo work by J.S.Bach, Reger or Hindemith.

Orchestral excerpts will be available at least two weeks before the audition day. The excerpts will be sent to applicants by e-mail as well as information regarding the audition location.

Selected candidates will receive an invitation by e-mail shortly after the deadline as long as they have completed university level education in instrumental performance .Application deadline may be extended. All applications will be answered.

About the position

The vacant position is full-time Co-Principal Viola in the Iceland Symphony Orchestra from autumn 2020. . Salary and benefits are subject to wage agreements between the association ofISO players and the Ministry of Finance. Individuals from outside EES need to apply for a work permit which is subject to approval by FÍH ( Association of Icelandic Musicians) and Directorate of Immigration.
